Lil Nas X VS. BET

Lil Nas X teased a song on Wednesday via social media where he disses BET. In the unreleased NBA Youngboy collab, Lil Nas X can be heard chanting “F*** BET F*** BET F*** BET.” This follows his June 1 twitter rant where he accused BET of being homophobic when he didn’t receive any nominations for the upcoming BET Awards.

Social media users were quick to question Lil Nas X’s accusation to which he responded that he deserved to be nominated due to having “3 of the biggest songs last year.” “I just feel like Gay Black people have to fight to be seen in this world and even when we make it to the top m*s pretend we’re invisible,” the rapper added in a tweet that now has been deleted.

The network finally responded to his claims once his rap diss went viral. BET clapped back stating: “no one from BET serves as a member of the voting academy.” They also made sure to clarify that they “love” Lil Nas X. Reminding their audience that he was nominated for best new artist in 2020 and that he’s been a performer twice on the show.

Lil Nas X wasn’t moved by the response, questioning its genuinity and describing it as “just buzz words.” This was followed by the rapper uploading a video of himself twerking to the lyrics of his upcoming song, “F*** BET.”
