Gay Norwegian Filmmaker Facing 3 Years in Prison for Saying Trans Women Can’t Be Lesbian

Gay Norwegian filmmaker, Tonje Gjevjon, is facing up to three years in prison for speaking out against a local transgender activist that identifies as a lesbian. Gjevjon’s claims that Christine Jentoft, who transitioned from being a man and now identifies as a woman, can’t be lesbian. Norwegian Study: Lesbian Marriages Most Likely to End in Divorce

A study that examined same-sex marriages in Norway found that lesbian couples are twice as likely to divorce in the first five years of marriage compared to heterosexual couples. Male same-sex couples however, are only 8% more likely to divorce than straight couples within the same time period. The study found that almost 60% of Norway’s 1993 lesbian marriages ended in divorce. Divorce rates in Norway are higher among married lesbian couples that live in the countryside compared to those living in urban areas. Male same-sex couples that live outside of the city are also more like to divorce than those that don't. Shooting Outside of Gay Bar Leaves 2 Dead

Two killed and 21 injured in shooting targeting a gay bar in Oslo early Saturday. Norwegian authorities are investigating the shooting as a potential act of extreme Islamist terrorism. Oslo Pride which was scheduled for today has been canceled as a result of the shooting.  The attack began at 1:15 a.m. local time according to officials. Witnesses have stated that a man pulled out a gun from his bag outside of the gay bar and started shooting. This led people to either flee or throw themselves on the ground. Out of the 21 injured, 10 have sustained serious injuries. Police arrived on the scene and arrested the attacker who was armed with two weapons.  The suspect is a Norwegian national of Iranian descent.
