Florida School Asks LGBTQ Students To Leave

Christian school in Valrico announced that it will only refer to students by their “biological gender” as it appears on their birthcertificate. While also stating that gay, transgender or non-gender conforming students” will be asked to leave the school immediately.” The email announcement was sent to parents on June 6 with the subject title “Important School Policy Point of Emphasis. … Please Read.”

The email was obtained by NBC news and was reportedly written by Barry McKeen who serves as the administrator of Grace Christian School in Valrico, 20 miles east of Tampa.

“We believe that any form of homosexuality, lesbianism, bisexuality, transgender identity/lifestyle, self-identification, bestiality, incest, fornication, adultery and pornography are sinful in the sight of God and the church (Genesis 2:24; Leviticus 18:1-30; Romans 1:26-29; I Corinthians 5:1; I Corinthians 6:9; I Thessalonians 4:2-7).”

“Students who are found participating in these lifestyles will be asked to leave the school immediately,” the announcement said.

The email stated that the policy wasn’t new but that it needed to be “understood and accepted completely” before the beginning of the school year.

In a video response to reports of the email, administrator McKeen confirmed the school’s policy saying “it is true that a student can not come to our school and be transgender or homosexual. This is rooted in scriptures.”
